03/02/10 Legionella at Northampton Racecourse Changing Room

Legionaires disease has been found in changing rooms at Northampton Racecourse, it has been revealed.

The changing room was closed on the afternoon of Wednesday 27th January, after routine sampling found the presence of Legionella bacteria.

Northampton Borough Council took action to thoroughly disinfect the water supply and showers in the room.

The changing room will remain closed this week for work to take place but the council said it was hoped that it could be reopened shortly.
